CNC Machinist OpportunityAre you a CNC Machinist, looking for opportunity? Looking for an Apprenticeship program to advance your skillset? Come Join our Team at SMS group Gary.The CNC Machinist will be responsible for loading/unloading CNC Lathe. Set up of machine including true up of chuck jaws, program required offsets to maintain blueprint specifications, complete appropriate dimensional documentation.The right candidate will:Ability to set up and operate both CNC and manual machinery for use in metal working applications. Experience with G-code and Mazatrol is a plus but not requiredComplete SOP travelers and document daily activities, advise supervisor of product non-conformance.Interpret assembly and blueprints drawings.Follow proper safety precautions.Must be courteous and work well with others.Ability to properly rig heavy machinery and equipment for use with overhead crane.Maintain an organized and clean work area.Drug free and safety mindedWhat you'll need:At least 6 months of CNC Machining experienceConverting metric and standard measurements.Basic Trigonometry functionsAbility to use and read precise measuring toolsAbility to learn and understand critical processes and operations in assigned areasHR diploma or equivalentWhat we offer:Competitive compensationMedical/Dental/Vision coverage after 30 daysPaid vacation after 90 daysPaid holiday time after 30 days401K with a company matchApprenticeship opportunity for Machinist and Millwright - company paid!!Tuition Reimbursement programWhat we do:SMS group is the leading partner in the world of metals.
