Join us and help shape the future of aerospace and defense.This position works in a primarily onsite capacity at Chula Vista, CA and will be part of the IAM Local 755.Work hours will be Monday - Friday, Day-Time Shift – 6:30AM – 3:00PM PSTWhat You Will DoPlans the sequence of progressive operations by working from blueprints, sketches and routing.Determines sequence of operations to minimize amount of machining on CNC VMCSets up VMC to perform any operation within its capability by positioning, aligning and securing work, improvising and adapting existing tooling and other machining aidsDetermines operations to be performed, dimensions and tolerances, cutting tools to be used to minimize required machining operationsMay perform cutter preset tasks as requiredDetermines, sets and adjust feeds, speeds, depths, stops, and performs minor oiling as necessaryMay use pneumatic tools to perform basic surface grindingGrinds tools, drill bits and special purpose toolsSets up and operates conventional and numerically controlled machines, such as but not limited to drill press, manual lathe, manual milling machine and CNC VMC to completely and independently produce tooling, maintenance, developmental and production partsLays out all lines necessary to ascertain machineability and subsequently all lines required to complete machining of production, tooling and developmental specificationsInstalls special bushings, inserts, etc. as requiredPerforms identificationUses overhead crane in conjunction with the work described hereinMaintain good shop practice and clean workstation/environmentUses experience and knowledge to assist other operatorsQualifications You Must HaveAA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant machining experience OR HS diploma, GED and 6 years of relevant experience is requiredAbility to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, Component Maintenance Manuals (CMMs) and specificationsExperience with setup and programming of CNC VMCExperience working with aerospace grade alloys such as Inconel and TitaniumWhat We OfferExcellent payBenefits including Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance all available on Day 1Retirement Program with a Company MatchAnd much moreWE ARE REDEFINING AEROSPACEOur Advanced Structures team leverages advanced materials and additive manufacturing to develop complex interior and exterior solutions.
