Job Description
CNC Programmer - Climate controlled environment
Our client is seeking an experienced CNC programmer to create CNC programs for a variety of production and prototype parts. The ideal person should know CNC machining processes, fixturing, CNC cutting tools, and Gibbs Cam software (Solidworks /Mastercam).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operate CNC lathe or mill
Create and edit CNC programs and setup sheets for processing parts on vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers.
Design project fixturing and plan cutting tool sequence to process parts efficiently
Support setup and operator machinist to produce quality parts.
Provide feedback to design engineers to produce manufacturable designs and drawings.
Research new technology in CNC cutting tools, machining fixtures, and effective operation sequences to reduce part costs and cycle times.
Perform any additional reasonable tasks consistent with your professional abilities that may be requested by the company
Qualifications
Experience in mill CNC machine tool programming and setup
Understanding of G code editing and troubleshooting. Creating and editing macros is a plus
Strong technical knowledge of current CNC machining cutting tools and calculating feeds and speeds
Ability to interpret engineering drawings with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
Experience with the machining of castings
Experience using Gibbs Cam
Programming experience using a coordinate measurement Machine (CMM) is a plus
Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
