Job PostingWe are working with a client company in the Urbana-Champaign, IL area seeking a CNC Machinists/Set-up Operator for 2nd shift.Ideal Background3–10+ years of CNC machining experience (mills, lathes, 5-axis)Comfortable with setup and operation, not just button-pushingAbility to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and tight tolerancesExperience making offsets and basic program edits (Fanuc, Haas, Mazak, etc.)Strong knowledge of tooling selection and cutting parameters Experience with first article inspections and in-process quality checksTechnical SkillsetMicrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gaugesUnderstanding of feeds & speeds, materials (steel, aluminum, stainless)Fixture setup and part changeoversPreventative machine maintenance basicsLean manufacturing or continuous improvement exposure (nice to have)Production Environment TraitsHigh attention to detail and quality mindsetAbility to run multiple machines (if applicable)Consistent attendance and reliabilityTeam-oriented but able to work independentlyComfortable in a fast-paced job shop or medium-volume production environmentBonus Experience (Often Valuable)CAD/CAM exposure (Mastercam, Fusion 360, etc.)Multi-axis machining (4th/5th axis)Prototype + short-run experienceTroubleshooting scrap and improving cycle timesKeywords: manufacturing, CNC, Machinist, metals, 5-axis, lathe, millingAll qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, age, color, sex (including pregnancy), religion, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, military status, genetic information, or any other status protected by applicable laws or regulations.
