Position Description:
The CNC Machinist performs detailed machine setups, CNC programming, machine process improvement and troubleshooting, and produces machined parts. The position is for WEEKEND Days shift - Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 5:00 AM - 5:30 PM; working 36 hours and receiving a 4-hour bonus, totaling 40 hours, also includes a 25% shift differential.
Essential Responsibilities:
* Set-up and operator lathes with live milling
* Use precision measuring tools to check and inspect to close tolerance requirements
* Document SPC and inspection results precisely
* Ability to modify tooling and fixtures as needed
* Advise supervisor and programming team of technical advancements to increase production
* Operate machines to produce production runs of parts
* Maintain quality standards through understanding of the Quality Management System
* Monitor and document operational and performance issues and provide feedback to supervisor
* Develop and maintain effective working relationships with peers, supervisor, and other staff
* Other duties as directed by supervisor
Qualifications:
* 2+ years of experience in CNC machine operation
* Read and understand blueprints and GD&T
* Experience with changing tools, performing offsets and quality checks on parts
* Strong verbal communication and problem-solving skills
* Attention to detail and ability to deal with complexity
* Capable of working in a customer-focused, deadline-driven environment while maintaining a positive attitude
Interested in learning with, and from, engineering and programming team to improve operations
