Role Description The CNC Machinist is a full-time, on-site role based in Wilkes-Barre, PA. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring CNC machines to produce parts that meet precise specifications for Trion’s merchandising and fixture products. Day-to-day tasks include reading and interpreting blueprints and work orders, selecting appropriate tooling, performing machine offsets and adjustments, and running machining operations such as milling and drilling. The CNC Machinist inspects parts using measuring instruments, performs in-process quality checks, and documents results to ensure consistent quality and adherence to safety and production standards. The role also involves routine machine maintenance, troubleshooting basic equipment issues, collaborating with production and engineering teams, and contributing to continuous improvement activities on the shop floor.

Qualifications

Demonstrated proficiency in Machine Operation and Machinery handling in a manufacturing environment.

Hands-on experience with Machining and Milling, including CNC setup, operation, and basic programming or editing.

Strong focus on Quality Control, with ability to use measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) and follow inspection procedures.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.

Understanding of shop math and tolerances relevant to machining and fabrication.

Commitment to safety practices, housekeeping standards, and proper use of personal protective equipment.

Previous experience as a CNC machinist or in a similar metalworking/machining role; experience in high-volume manufacturing is a plus.

High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in machining or manufacturing technology is preferred.

Reliable attendance, ability to stand for extended periods, and capability to lift materials in accordance with shop requirements.

Strong teamwork, communication skills, and willingness to learn new equipment and processes.
