Job description
CNC Mill OperatorThe CNC Mill Operator is responsible for following prescribed standards of CNC operations, meeting cycle times, promoting on time delivery through their performance efforts, demonstrating knowledge and application of lean manufacturing, promoting teamwork through their behavior, acting in accordance with Altek's Policies and adhering to the goals and expectations as defined by management.Responsibilities:Follows the procedures established in the work instructions or by the Assistant Manager(s) and/or Lead(s)Follows prescribed standards of CNC Mill operationsPays strong attention to detail, exhibits critical thinking skills and meets set cycle timesTakes an active role in organizing and improving current processes, when necessary, through SWI change suggestionsInspects product according to Altek's Quality Policies and ProceduresIs proactive in maintaining established company policies and manufacturing strategiesBuilds and maintains positive rapport, communication and behavior with other Altek employees, customers and/or suppliersAdapts and modifies as circumstances warrantDemonstrates safe work habitsEmbraces Altek's Quality Policy to ensure quality to internal and external customersEmbraces Altek's vision, core values, and expected behaviorsFunctional Responsibilities:Completes end-of-shift tie-in log and accurately enters part and scrap counts into PaperlessQualifications:High School Diploma or GEDCNC Machining Certificate or minimum of 1 year experience as a Machine Shop OperatorEffective verbal and written communication skillsAbility to accurately read blueprintsQuality-conscious attitude and pride of ownership in designated responsibilitiesSkilled with portable measuring devices used in the production processes at AltekMust be able to read and comply with work instructions, quality documents, and other pertinent written materialPhysical DemandsActivity Yes No CommentSitting - X - OccasionallyStanding - X - FrequentlyWalking - X - FrequentlyPushing and/or pulling - X - FrequentlyClimbing - X - NeverBending or stooping - X - FrequentlySquatting or kneeling - X - FrequentlyTwisting or turning - X - FrequentlyHandling, grasping with one or both hands - X - FrequentlyTyping - X - OccasionallyReaching or arm extension - X - FrequentlyLifting or carrying - X - FrequentlyTime Spend Indoors: 100%Time Spend Outdoors: 0%Never = 0% Occasionally = 25% Frequently = 75% Constantly = 100%
