Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWe need a skilled CNC Mill Programmer to create, test, and improve programs for 3-, 4-, and 5-axis vertical and horizontal milling machines. You will turn engineering blueprints into exact machining instructions. You will also choose cutting tools, set speeds, and help machinists troubleshoot setup or program issues.
Key Responsibilities
Write Programs: Create efficient CNC milling programs using CAD/CAM software like Mastercam or PowerMill.
Analyze Blueprints: Read technical drawings and geometric dimensions to plan the best machining paths.
Select Tooling: Choose the right cutting tools, feed rates, and spindle speeds for different metals and plastics.
Optimize Operations: Edit existing programs to cut cycle times, reduce scrap, and extend tool life.
Support Setup: Assist machine operators with first-article inspections, workholding setup, and live troubleshooting.
Maintain Documentation: Create clear setup sheets, tool lists, and process instructions for the shop floor.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience: 2+ years of hands-on experience programming and setting up CNC milling machines.
Software Skills: Strong proficiency in modern CAD/CAM software.
Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of G-code, M-code, feeds, speeds, and cutting tool geometry.
Blueprint Reading: Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
Education: High school diploma; technical degree or certification in machining or manufacturing
