CNC Operator, 2The CNC Operator, 2 is a skilled manufacturing team member, responsible for operating CNC machines with increased independence and technical capability. In addition to performing machine operation duties, this role includes machine setup, tool changes, offset adjustments, and the production of parts with greater complexity and tighter tolerances. Reporting to the Supervisor, Production, this position requires a solid understanding of CNC machining processes and a commitment to continuous improvement, safety, and quality. Team members in this position may also assist in training entry-level operators and serve as a resource for best practices on the production floor.Key ResponsibilitiesProficiently perform fundamentals of Operator 1, CNCPerform machine setups including: Fixture installation, Tooling changes, Offset adjustmentsRun medium-complexity parts with tighter tolerancesInterpret part drawings and work instructionsPerform in-process inspections using precision measuring equipmentIdentify and troubleshoot basic machining issuesMaintain production efficiency and quality standardsAssist Operator 1 team members with training and supportParticipating in continuous improvement activitiesMaintain machine tooling and monitor tool wearRecord production and quality data as requiredFollow all safety procedures and use appropriate PPEMaintain clean and organized work areaCommunicate promptly to supervisor of any machine issues or quality concernsAdditional responsibilities and projects may be assigned as relevant to the role.Position QualificationsEducation, Certifications and LicensesHigh school diploma, GED or equivalency, required.Some technical training or experience in CNC operations, required.Experience and CompetenciesDemonstrated CNC machining experience in similar industryAbility to read technical drawings and blueprintsStrong understanding of measuring equipment and inspection techniquesDemonstrated quality ownershipDemonstrated knowledge of CNC machine controls and offsetsAbility to interpret and follow written and oral instructions clearly and accurately.Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in how products work.Proven attention to detail and commitment to quality.Demonstrated commitment to teamwork, safety, and professional communication.Ability to maintain positive and respectful interactions with team members, customers, vendors, and carrier personnel.Willingness to work extended hours during peak periods to meet operational demands.
