Visit for more details.OverviewThe CNC Operator is responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of our shop CNC machine, and an important part of the larger fabrication team. The Level99 CNC Operator builds game components working closely with the engineers, designers and fabricators to ensure that components are precise and scenic details are successfully executed. The Level99 CNC Operator at our Norwood MA design and build production facility plays a critical role in producing precision cut components that support the fabrication of our interactive challenges and scenic environments.ResponsibilitiesOperate CNC routers and related equipment to cut, machine, and produce parts from wood, plastics, and other materialsSet up jobs including loading material, securing stock, setting zero points, and selecting appropriate toolingRead and interpret shop drawings, cut files, and job specifications to execute accurate CNC operationsMonitor machine operation to ensure quality, accuracy, and safe performance throughout each jobPerform basic machine maintenance including cleaning and routine upkeepWork closely with CNC Programmers, Engineers, and Fabricators to ensure parts meet required specifications and tolerancesInspect finished parts for quality and accuracy before releasing them to the fabrication teamOrganize and label cut parts for efficient downstream assemblyMaintain a clean, safe, and organized CNC workspace and surrounding shop areaTrack material usage and communicate needs for replenishmentSupport the broader fabrication team with assembly, material prep, and general production tasks when CNC work is not actively requiredMust-Have Skills2+ years of hands on experience operating CNC routers or similar digital fabrication equipmentStrong understanding of machine setup including workholding, zeroing, and tool selectionAbility to read and interpret shop drawings, cut files, and fabrication documentationHigh attention to detail and commitment to producing clean, accurate partsStrong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple jobs and prioritiesOther Desirable (But Not Necessary) Skills & Experience IncludeExperience with CAM software and preparing toolpathsFamiliarity with CNC file formats and workflows (DXF, G code, etc.)Experience working in a fabrication shop, scenic shop, or manufacturing environmentBasic woodworking or fabrication experience for downstream assembly supportOSHA 10 certification$25 - $30 an hourWhile we don't expect a candidate to have deep experience in all of the above, we're looking for someone with the passion and capability to learn quickly in the areas that are new!You might be a fit on the Level99 team if you…Like to laugh, would be described as a "low maintenance, low drama" person, have a tendency to have a bit of fun while you workHave a high tolerance for ambiguity, like to go fast, and are excited to learn on the jobAre just a little bit obsessive about getting the details right the first timeHave a high energy personality, the kind of person who is typically smiling, and likes to "get it done now"Level99 is an E-Verify employer.
