Operating out of four state-of-the-art facilities located in Connecticut, Hanwha Aerospace USA offers growth and career development opportunities to enrich your talents.We are seeking an entry level 5 Axis CNC Programmer to program using UG NX, develop setup & tooling specifications, and a robust process. As a 5 Axis CNC Programmer, the individual will work with the Engineering team to plan numerical control programs to control contour path machining of parts on automatic machine tools, using computer aided design equipment (CAD/CAM software), with an emphasis on process improvement, using the latest cutting tool and optimization technologies. The optimum candidate will have a strong machining, shop floor background and a desire to advance into an NC programming position.Essential Functions:Operate technologically advanced equipment and state-of-the-art machinery.Analyze drawings, design models, and sketches to determine dimensions and configuration of cuts, selection of cutting tools, machine speeds and feed rates according to shop processes, customer specifications, and machine capabilities.Compute angular and linear dimensions, radii, and curvatures and outline sequence of operations required to machine part.Write instruction sheets, geometric layouts to outline sequence of operations, and cutter setup to guide setup and operation of machine.Revise programs to eliminate instruction errors, omissions, and update programs with new technology/methods to improve efficiency; meet customer delivery datesResponsible for the implementation of Corrective Actions on parts that result in non-conformances due to programming concerns.Keep reject rates to a minimumPractice 6S (sort, set in order, shine, standardize, sustain, safety) and abide by all safety guidelinesObserves numerical displays on control panels and compares with data on process sheet to verify dimensional adjustments, feed rates, and speeds of machining cuts.Document the in-process inspection proceduresMay set tools before positioning them in mill, using precision gauges and instruments. (Zoller Pre-Setter)Would be required to assist in program development by running the machine to debug programs writtenPerform other related duties or responsibilities as requiredRequired Qualifications & Experience:Must be a "U.S. Person" as defined by the U.S. Government and able to work without restrictions with ITAR related dataHigh School Degree or G.E.D2+ years of experience in a Manufacturing environmentDesired Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesMust be able to read, write, understand, and speak English at a functional levelMust have strong attention to detailKnowledge of Zoller Tool Management SystemKnowledge of verification software (Vericut)Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of the organizationAbility to interpret policies, procedures, and standard business practicesAbility to read and interpret blueprints and engineering work instructionsAbility to work collaboratively in a team environmentAbility to travel domestically – 5% maxPhysical Requirements:Must be able to lift 35lbsMust be able to sit and stand for extended periods of timeMust be able to go up and down stairs frequentlyReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform.Hanwha Aerospace USA is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
