Job description

CNC Programmer On The Die Shop TeamAs a CNC Programmer on the Die Shop Team, you are responsible for machining the most complex components of the dies and working with engineers to improve die designs from a machining standpoint. In addition, you work with engineers to push the boundaries of machining technologies and develop better methods, tools, and programming practices aimed at reducing die costs and lead times while improving final quality.ResponsibilitiesProgram 5-axis CNC Mills in a low-volume / high-mix workflowPrepare operator documents and prove out programs on the floor with machinistsWork closely with engineers to provide crucial input on design for manufacturabilityMachine complex components to tight tolerances in various materials with tight deadlinesUse various inspection and measurement tools to validate your workTracking and documentation of machining processes and results when necessaryProvide feedback to engineers, other machinists and programmers on design and process improvementRequirements10+ years of CNC mill programming experience4+ years of 5 axis programming experienceProficient with basic shop tools and machines (manual mill, engine lathe, drill press, bandsaw, belt sanders, hand tools etc.)Experience with Heidenhain CNC controlsExperience machining dies (HP diecasting, stampings, injection molding etc.)CAD experience with CATIA V5 (basic navigation, model manipulation, and simple modeling)Compensation & BenefitsBenefitsAlong with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire:Medical plans > plan options with $0 payroll deductionFamily-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefitsDental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans, both have options with a $0 paycheck contributionCompany Paid (Health Savings Accounts) HSA Contribution when enrolled in the High-Deductible medical plan with HSAHealthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)401(k) with employer match, Employee Stock Purchase Plans, and other financial benefitsCompany paid Basic Life, AD&DShort-term and long-term disability insurance (90 day waiting period)Employee Assistance ProgramSick and Vacation time (Flex time for salary positions, Accrued hours for Hourly positions), and Paid HolidaysBack-up childcare and parenting support resourcesVoluntary benefits to include: critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, theft & legal services, and pet insuranceWeight Loss and Tobacco Cessation ProgramsTesla Babies programCommuter benefitsEmployee discounts and perks program
