Machine Operator / Maintenance Technician / CNC MachinistWe're looking for dependable individuals who enjoy working with machines and tools. This role is primarily for Machine Operators, but candidates with Maintenance Technician, Maintenance Mechanic, or CNC Machinist experience are encouraged to apply. Higher skill levels may qualify for more responsibility and higher pay.ResponsibilitiesOperate production machines safely and efficiently.Load materials and remove finished products from machines.Monitor machine performance and product quality.Perform basic machine adjustments and troubleshooting.Use measuring tools and gauges to inspect parts and products.Complete production and quality paperwork accurately.Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.Follow safety procedures and wear required PPE.Assist with machine setups and changeovers.Work with teammates to meet daily production goals.Report machine issues, defects, or safety concerns.Support basic maintenance and preventive maintenance tasks.Higher-level candidates may perform repairs, troubleshooting, and CNC setups.Essential SkillsExperience operating machines in a manufacturing or production environment.Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.Ability to use hand tools and measuring instruments.Strong attention to detail and quality.Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures.Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.Basic math and communication skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Comfortable standing, walking, and lifting throughout the shift.Additional Skills & QualificationsMaintenance Technician, Maintenance Mechanic, or Industrial Mechanic experience.CNC machine operation, setup, or programming experience.Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, conveyors, or industrial equipment.Ability to read blueprints or technical drawings.PLC or electrical troubleshooting experience is a plus.Manufacturing, production, fabrication, packaging, or machining experience preferred.Entry-level candidates with strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn are welcome to apply.Why Work Here?This is a great opportunity to join a stable company that rewards hard work and technical skills. You will work with CNC lathes, manual lathes, manual mills, and related tooling and measuring equipment, including calipers and micrometers. The environment is fast-paced and hands-on, with a focus on meeting production schedules and maintaining high quality standards. Typical shifts run from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The dress code includes jeans without holes, a T-shirt, and appropriate PPE. The company provides disposable coveralls, protective eyewear, gloves, and masks, while steel-toed boots are expected. The shop operates as a union environment, offering structured benefits and a culture where many employees have worked there for more than five years.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Petaluma, CA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $38.00 - $48.00/hr.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
