Job description

CNC ProgrammerJoin a dynamic, collaborative team where you will have the opportunity to work alongside engineers from a variety of disciplines. Use your fabrication skills to create prototypes and work with test engineers and production personnel to prepare new technical solutions that can be deployed to fielded systems and support the warfighter. Excellent opportunities for professional growth and career advancement as you take on new challenges and opportunities to expand your skill set.Lead programmer and material planner for small machine shop. Currently programming for wire EDM and 4 axis mill using Mastercam and/or Solidworks CAM. Machine prototype components using CNC and manual mills and lathes. Program, setup, and operate 3- or 4 -axis CNC machines. Collaborate with design engineers, make recommendations and share best practices with machining approaches and materials as a subject matter expert (SME) on machining. Read and interpret engineering drawings (CAD/CAM) and tolerancing schemes, including GD&T. Maintain machine shop equipment for function and cleanliness.Required:High School Diploma or GED5-10 years of experience with setting up, programming, editing and operating CNC milling and lathe machinesExperience with machining metals (aluminum, stainless steel) and other materialsExperience with design process and mechanical assembly. Must be able to read and interpret drawings and blueprintsMust be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret ClearanceEffective verbal and written communication in EnglishBasic MS Windows skillsAbility to perform basic mathematical computationsAbility to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situationsPHYSICAL DEMANDS - Ability to lift 50 lbs. when required; While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms; Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focusDesired:Experience with machine maintenance.Experience with waterjet and laser cutting.A culture of integrity.
