Job description
CNC MachinistICON is looking for a skilled CNC machinist to operate and maintain our CNC router. As a CNC programmer and operator, you will be responsible for reading and interpreting technical blueprints, inputting design specifications, programming the machine cutting paths, and performing quality checks on the final product. You may also be required to perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the manufacturing process. To ensure success in this role, you should have extensive experience working in manufacturing, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work unsupervised. This is a full-time, onsite position based on our Austin, Texas HQ Campus.Responsibilities:Reading and interpreting technical blueprints.Manipulating design models.Inputting the product designs into the programming software and generating g-code.Choosing and loading the correct cutting tools for the job.Adjusting machine settings to the appropriate specifications.Loading raw materials into the CNC machine (with and without a forklift).Track material consumption.Troubleshooting issues during the manufacturing process.Completing quality control tests during the manufacturing stage and on the final product.Cleaning and maintaining the machine.Communicating with engineers and designers as needed.Training new staff on machine operation procedures.Basic fabrication shop job duties, including cutting material, prepping, cleaning, etcMinimum Qualifications:3+ years of experience operating and programming a CNC routerHigh school diploma or GEDExperience programming/ running a CNC router to cut Aluminum, Wood, & PlasticsAbility to read and interpret design blueprintsExperience with computer modeling software, including: Rhino, Fusion, & Solid WorksStrong attention to detailProficient communication and collaboration across disciplinesAbility to work independently and consistently meet deadlinesAbility to lift heavy objects (50-100lbs)ICON is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering an innovative, inclusive, diverse and discrimination-free work environment.
