Job description
Position Summary We are seeking an experienced CNC Set-Up Machinist with a Tool & Die background to independently set up and machine large, complex components in a low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environment.
Available Shifts:
2nd Shift: Monday–Friday | 2:00 PM–10:00 PM
3rd Shift: Sunday–Thursday | 10:00 PM–6:00 AM
Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC Vertical Machining Centers (VMC), Horizontal Machining Centers (HMC), and/or Horizontal Boring Mills.
Machine large weldments and complex steel components.
Interpret blueprints, GD&T, and technical drawings.
Perform precision setups using probes, indicators, edge finders, and tool setters.
Adjust work offsets (G54), G-code/M-code, speeds, feeds, and tooling.
Troubleshoot machining issues and verify part quality using precision measuring equipment.
Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
Qualifications
5+ years of CNC machining experience in a job shop or custom manufacturing environment.
Tool & Die experience required.
Proven ability to perform complex CNC setups independently.
Experience with large weldments or heavy machining applications.
Strong blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge.
Familiarity with Fanuc controls preferred.
