CNC Setup OperatorShelby Township, MI Pay Range: $20-$28/hour 1st shift M-F, 7:00am – 3:30pm 90 days contract-to-hire positionJob Summary: We're seeking an experienced CNC Setup Person and Production Operator with expertise in turning, milling, and saw cutting. You'll set up machines for production runs and operate them to produce precision parts to specification. The role calls for a keen eye for detail, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to keep pace in a fast-moving shop. Based on performance, this person will have the opportunity to lead the CNC department.Key Responsibilities:Set up and operate 3-axis CNC lathes, mills, and production sawsInterpret drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to ensure accurate productionMonitor machine operation and adjust settings to maintain quality and meet production targetsEdit G&M codes as necessaryInspect finished parts against quality standards and specificationsTroubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during productionPerform routine machine maintenance to keep equipment running at its bestWork with the team to improve production processes and workflowKeep a clean, organized work area and follow all safety proceduresQualifications:High school diploma or equivalentProved experience as a CNC machine setup person and operatorProficiency with CNC turning, milling, and saw cutting machinesStrong understanding of machining processes and techniquesAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprintsBasic shop math and measurement skillsStrong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and work ethicAbility to work independently and as part of a teamPhysical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects when necessaryExperience with Samsung, Fuji, or Okuma machines and Fanuc controlsCNC programming experienceWillingness to learn new technologies and techniquesA successful candidate will be subject to a background check and must receive satisfactory results of the same, as a condition of joining the team.
