CNC Swiss Screw Setup MachinistHeartline Staffing is recruiting a CNC Swiss Screw Setup Machinist for an onsite precision-manufacturing opportunity in El Cajon, California. This position requires substantial CNC machining experience with hands-on responsibility for both setup and operation of Swiss-style CNC machines used to manufacture small, high-precision components. The machinist will independently manage setups, troubleshoot machining issues, perform first-article inspections and make real-time adjustments to maintain consistent part quality. This role works closely with programmers, engineers and quality personnel while supporting repeatable, efficient production processes.Compensation: $61,000-$90,000Swiss CNC Setup & Operation:Set up and operate Swiss-style CNC machinesManufacture small, high-precision componentsSelect and install appropriate tooling, fixtures and machine offsetsIndependently troubleshoot setup and machining issuesMonitor machine operations and make real-time adjustments to maintain quality and efficiencyDocument setup procedures and best practices for repeatability and trainingBlueprints, GD&T & Inspection:Interpret blueprints, CAD models and setup sheetsApply GD&T to machining and inspection activitiesPerform first-article inspectionsMake necessary adjustments to ensure compliance with specificationsUse precision measuring instruments and inspection techniquesTooling & Machining:Apply knowledge of CNC controls, tooling and machining principlesSupport tooling and fixture selection for production jobsMaintain control of setup and production outcomesPerform routine machine maintenanceProactively report mechanical issuesQuality & Continuous Improvement:Collaborate with programmers, engineers and quality personnel to optimize machining strategiesMaintain strong attention to quality and process controlParticipate in Lean, Kaizen and other continuous-improvement initiativesMaintain a clean, organized and safe work environment in accordance with 5S and safety standardsTeam Support:Mentor and support junior machinists and operators as neededWork collaboratively with manufacturing and technical teamsCommunicate effectively while maintaining independent ownership of assigned setups and production outcomesSchedule Flexibility:Willingness to work flexible shifts or overtime as neededRequirements:High School diploma or GED REQUIRED5-7 years of CNC machining experience REQUIREDAt least 3 years operating and setting up Swiss-style CNC machines REQUIREDStrong experience with Citizen, Nakamura, Star or Tsugami machines REQUIREDProficiency reading and interpreting blueprints and GD&T REQUIREDDeep understanding of CNC controls, tooling and machining principles REQUIREDSkill using precision measuring instruments and inspection techniques REQUIREDStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality and process control REQUIREDAbility to work independently and take ownership of setup and production outcomes REQUIREDExcellent communication skills and collaborative mindset REQUIREDWillingness to work flexible shifts or overtime as needed REQUIREDLocal candidate able to work onsite in El Cajon, CA REQUIREDStable work history REQUIREDCompensation expectations within the stated salary range REQUIREDTechnical training or machining certification PREFERRED
