CNC Water Jet OperatorEvaluation hire $19/hr + depending on experience Monday - Friday 7 am - 4 pmPosition Summary: A well-established industrial fabrication company in the Baker, Louisiana area is seeking an experienced Water Jet Operator to join its production team. This role is critical to precision cutting operations involving corrosion-resistant and specialty materials. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and experienced with water jet cutting equipment in a manufacturing environment.Key Responsibilities:Set up, operate, and monitor CNC water jet cutting equipmentRead and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and job travelersMeasure and inspect finished parts to ensure dimensional accuracy and quality standardsPerform routine machine maintenance, cleaning, and troubleshootingSelect appropriate cutting parameters (pressure, abrasive flow, feed rates)Handle materials safely, including stainless steel and other corrosion-resistant alloysMaintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant work areaWork collaboratively with supervisors, engineers, and other shop personnelRequired Qualifications:Previous experience operating industrial water jet cutting machinesAbility to read blueprints and use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, tape measures)Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skillsStrong attention to detail and commitment to qualityAbility to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbsDependable attendance and strong work ethicPreferred Qualifications:Experience with corrosion-resistant materials or industrial fabricationCNC programming or CAD experienceForklift or overhead crane experience (or willingness to be trained)Compensation & Benefits:Competitive pay based on experienceOvertime opportunitiesBenefits package may include: medical, dental, and vision insurance; paid time off and holidays; retirement plan optionsWork Environment:Climate-variable industrial shop environmentEmphasis on safety, precision, and quality craftsmanship
