About the Facility This inpatient facility provides obstetric services to an adult patient population and has experienced an increase in clinical volume, creating the need for additional midwifery support. The facility maintains established clinical protocols and structured workflows to support continuous obstetric care delivery across all assigned coverage periods. Clinical operations are conducted on-site in accordance with night shift scheduling requirements.
About the Facility Location Downtown offers clinicians on assignment access to a waterfront promenade spanning 3 miles, alongside maritime and military cultural attractions including the MacArthur Memorial, Nauticus and the Battleship Wisconsin, the Chrysler Museum of Art, and the Hermitage Museum and Gardens. Dining cruises, harbor sailboat charters, the Norfolk Botanical Garden, and Harbor Park - home to the local AAA baseball team the Tides - are among the additional options available. Clinicians will find a range of dining, trails, and community events throughout the area.
About the Clinician's Workday Clinicians in this role will provide inpatient obstetric coverage through 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) on an on-site basis, with assignments scheduled on weekends only beginning in December on an ongoing basis. Clinical responsibilities include managing deliveries and triaging patients throughout each assigned shift. Documentation is conducted using the EPIC EMR system. Board certification in nurse-midwifery is required for all clinicians considered for this position.
