Job Description

About the job

Company. LedgerOps Ai (an A Foundery venture)

Portfolio Company LedgerOpsAi

Location : Ashburn, Virginia, United States (On-site)

Type Co-Founder — full-time

Start date ASAP

Compensation

Salary of $80,000 to $120,000 per year and a defined path to significant ownership. Vesting and related terms are agreed in the Co-Founder agreement.

The Opportunity in One Line

The delivery engine and the first customers already exist. We are looking for the person who will own the market, the revenue and the commercial direction of the company.

About A Foundery

A Foundery is a profit-led venture studio. We build cash-positive businesses with operators who want ownership, not options.

We do not chase valuations. We chase revenue, margin and durable customer relationships.

Founders who build with us get shared support across technology, operations, finance, legal, HR and marketing, plus delivery infrastructure, operating playbooks and hands-on leadership support. You build the company. You do not build every function from zero.

The Customer Problem

Most growing U.S. businesses run bookkeeping on a fragile stack. A founder who checks the numbers. A part-time bookkeeper. An external accountant who appears at tax time. Software that records transactions but chases nobody.

Transactions get logged. The operating loop never closes.

Nobody owns document collection. Nobody investigates the discrepancy. Nobody enforces the close calendar. Nobody is accountable for books a leader can actually decide from.

The cost compounds:

Financial records arrive late or inconsistent

Accounts sit unreconciled and exceptions stay open

Cash flow and receivables get blurry exactly when clarity matters

Founders and senior staff absorb work they should have delegated years ago

Expensive cleanup lands right before a filing, a raise or an audit

Finance workload grows faster than the team can hire

Accounting software automates steps. It does not take responsibility.

What We Are Building

LedgerOpsAi delivers a managed bookkeeping and finance-operations pod that works as an extension of the customer's business.

Scope typically includes:

Transaction categorization and bookkeeping

Bank and credit card reconciliations

Accounts payable and accounts receivable support

Invoice and document processing

Month-end close coordination

Exception tracking and resolution

Management reporting and recurring operating reviews

The pod works inside the customer's existing systems. QuickBooks, Xero, their banks, their payment and expense tools, their document workflows. No rip-and-replace project.

AI and automation assist with extraction, classification, routing, exception flagging and reporting. Trained people remain accountable for judgment, review, follow-up and completion.

Two things this is not. We are not building accounting software, so you are not being recruited to ship a product. And we are not selling offshore labor, because nobody buys headcount.

The commercial model is a recurring monthly engagement, priced on transaction volume, scope and complexity.

The Value We Sell

Customers buy dependable, decision-ready books. What that gives them:

Finance capacity without adding U.S. headcount

Lower cost and lower management burden on routine finance operations

A close that happens on a calendar instead of on hope

Less manual follow-up and less founder involvement

Accurate, timely and reliable financial information

Clear accountability for recurring workflows

Documented processes and quality controls that scale

Controllers and business leaders freed for higher-value work

The Unfair Advantage

You are not starting with an idea. LedgerOpsAi already has customer experience, an operating team and practical knowledge of building and managing offshore delivery pods.

Defensibility here comes from execution, not from a patent. Well-trained teams. Documented workflows. Disciplined onboarding. Quality controls. Customer-specific operating knowledge that only accumulates by doing the work. That takes years to build. It is already built.

What remains is the commercial engine: a sharply defined wedge, a compelling offer, predictable acquisition, repeatable onboarding and a base of recurring customer relationships.

That is your half of the company.

The Co-Founder Role

You own — the commercial company:

Market selection and positioning

Ideal customer profile and the initial industry wedge

Offer design, packaging and pricing

Lead generation and sales pipeline

Discovery, proposals and closing

Commercial onboarding and customer relationships

Customer success, retention and account expansion

Revenue forecasting and commercial performance

Building a repeatable go-to-market organization

A Foundery and the supporting team own — delivery:

Bookkeeping and finance-operations execution

Recruiting and managing offshore delivery resources

SOP execution, training and quality assurance

Shared technology and operational infrastructure

Finance, HR, legal and administrative support

Technical automation and delivery tooling

The role is not technical and not accounting-production focused. You need to understand the customer's financial workflow well enough to sell outcomes, earn trust and hold the organization accountable for delivery.

Jobs to Be Done

Define the wedge. Select the first U.S. segment with an urgent, repeatable bookkeeping or close-management problem.

Shape the offer. Turn existing delivery capability into a clearly scoped service with positioning, pricing and measurable outcomes.

Build the pipeline. Create and personally execute a focused outbound, referral and partnership strategy.

Win customers. Lead discovery, diagnose operational pain, develop proposals, close paid engagements.

Own onboarding. Translate every signed agreement into clear scope, expectations, access requirements and a coordinated handoff to delivery.

Prove the value. Establish service metrics and demonstrate real improvement in timeliness, reliability, workload and financial visibility.

Convert and expand. Build recurring relationships, add adjacent finance workflows, grow the accounts that work.

Build the company. Establish the commercial processes, operating cadence and early team that make growth repeatable.

First 90 Days

Month 1 — Focus: Select the segment and primary buyer, define the entry-point workflow, run structured discovery, refine the offer, build a qualified pipeline, and align scope and pricing with delivery.

Month 2 — Sell: Run discovery and solution-design meetings, produce scoped proposals, validate pricing and delivery assumptions, advance opportunities, define value measurement, and secure a paid pilot.

Month 3 — Prove: Onboard at least one paying customer, establish the delivery and governance cadence, document the first repeatable sales-to-delivery process, and build a repeatable approach for the next customer.

The essential 90-day outcome: at least one paying customer onboarded, and a credible, repeatable path to more.

The Offer

Salary Package : A pre-agreed salary of $80,000 to $120,000 per year set against revenue, cash flow, scope and performance.

Longterm ownership: A defined path to significant ownership, subject to agreed milestones and continued contribution. Vesting, transfer and governance terms are settled in the formal Co-Founder agreement.

The structure is deliberate. Modest cash early, real ownership as the revenue arrives.

Who Should Consider This

You may be a strong fit if you:

Have built or sold B2B services to U.S. small and midsized businesses

Can personally prospect, sell, negotiate and close, without a team to hide behind

Understand bookkeeping, accounting operations, outsourced services or adjacent BPO models

Translate operational capability into a simple commercial offer

Are comfortable owning revenue and customer outcomes

Work effectively with distributed and offshore delivery teams

Decide using metrics, customer feedback and unit economics

Prefer execution and cash-positive growth over startup theatre

Want meaningful ownership and intend to build for the long term

Founder, operator, commercial leader, accounting-services leader, BPO executive: all relevant. Follow-through and the ability to win customer trust matter more than pedigree.

This is probably not for you if you want a title without carrying a number, or if you need a marketing team in place before the first call.

Why Now

The delivery capability is proven and idle capacity is expensive. Every month without a commercial owner leaves advantage on the table.

U.S. mid-market finance teams are under real pressure to add capacity without adding headcount. That window is open now and the buyers are actively looking.

Most people who want to start a company spend their first two years building what is already sitting here.
