Job description
Are you a seasoned leader with a passion for efficiency, sustainability, and operational excellence? We’re looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Cogen Superintendent to take charge of the cogeneration operations at our paper mill in Oxnard, California. This is a high-impact role where you’ll drive operational efficiency, environmental compliance, and strategic improvements while leading a dedicated team.
Reporting directly to the Utilities Manager, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize performance and ensure the reliability of our power generation systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead & optimize: Oversee the safe and efficient operation of our cogen boiler, backup power boiler, and mill air systems to maximize performance.
Safety & compliance: Champion safety protocols and environmental regulations, ensuring all processes and programs are followed to the highest standards.
Financial stewardship: Take ownership of the operating budget and drive strong financial performance for the cogeneration unit.
Strategic growth: Develop and execute long-term capital and process improvement plans to enhance efficiency and sustainability.
Team leadership: Mentor and develop a high-performing team, fostering a self-directed, reliability-focused culture among both direct reports and union employees.
Clear communication: Align your team with business strategies, goals, and initiatives, ensuring everyone is working toward shared success.
