nThe Division of Colon and Rectal Surgery in the Department of Surgery at Penn State Health, Penn State College of Medicine, which currently includes 6 Full Time and 2 Part-Time Colorectal Surgeons and one Full-Time PhD scientist enjoys a long history of excellent clinical outcomes and important clinical and translational research. We are seeking a highly qualified, clinically strong, academically oriented and motivated Board-certified/eligible Colon and Rectal Surgeon at the Assistant/Associate Professor level to help us address the needs of affiliate hospitals within the Penn State Health system that serves patients and communities across 15 counties in central Pennsylvania.

nPosition Highlights

nnnACGME-approved Fellowship in Colorectal Surgery.

nnHigh quality clinical program treating patients afflicted with a broad spectrum of benign and malignant diseases of the colon, rectum and anus.

nnHigh quality academic program which includes a funded research laboratory, established tissue biobank, Family Registry and IBD Center.

nnExcellent opportunities for collaborative research throughout Penn State College of Medicine including the Division of Outcomes Research and Quality and the Division of Applied Biomedical Engineering both housed in the Department of Surgery, The Penn State Cancer Institute as well as the Huck Institute of Life Sciences at Penn State.

nnExcellent Faculty Development Program and overall Faculty Mentoring Program.

nnRobust administrative and clinical staff support, including in-patient and out-patient Advanced Providers.

n nRequirements

nnnA strong commitment to collegial teamwork and outstanding patient care, Medical Student, Surgical Resident and Colorectal Surgery Fellow education and a genuine interest and dedication to scholarly activity and impactful research.

nnMD, DO, or equivalent degree

n

nnBC/BE in Colon and Rectal Surgery

n

nnAbility to acquire a license to practice in the State of Pennsylvania

n

nnMust be able to obtain valid federal and state narcotics certificates

n
