Job DescriptionA Combination Welder will weld, fabricate and assist pipe fitters in the installation of varying types of industrial pipe (carbon, stainless, and chrome) into the project's piping systems.ResponsibilitiesPosition Responsibilities:Selects equipment and plans layouts, assembly, and welding applying knowledge of geometry, physical properties of metal machining, weld shrinkage, and welding techniques.Layout, position, align, cut, assemble, and fit metal components in various body positions and places.Bolts, clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding.Sets equipment and welds parts, using arc, gas-shielded arc, submerged arc, or gas arc welding equipment.Weld metal materials to piping systems equipment using the appropriate welding procedure for the various equipment and metal types involved.Identify all equipment for the job and process.Identify all safety risks and requirements.Other Duties as assigned.QualificationsQualification HighlightsMust have the ability to weld in 2g, 4g, and 6g conditions.Must be able to Stick and Tig weld on Pipe.Must successfully pass a weld test.Must have 4+ years of industrial welding experience.Must have all required knowledge, skills, and abilities.Must be able to meet all physical requirements.Must have all the tools listed below on the start date.Required QualificationsMust be able to read blueprints and other engineering drawings in order to perform efficiently.Must be able to read and interpret technical manuals as applicable.Must have 4+ years of experience welding on industrial-size and grade pipe. (Schedules: 40, 80, and 160)Must have the ability to weld in 2g, 4g, and 6g conditions.Must be able to Stick and Tig weld on Pipe.Must have a thorough knowledge of various metal characteristics and qualities including the correct welding processes required and the effects of welding on the material.Must successfully pass a weld test.Must have experience welding multiple types of pipe including but not limited to carbon steel, stainless, and chrome.Must be able to assist pipe fitters in pipe installation, preparation, and fabrication while not actively welding.Must have reliable transportation.Must be able to work at heights as required.Preferred Additional QualificationCurrent Zachry or Zachry ROF'ed employee.Former experience working with Zachry Industrial, Inc.Previous experience in this position with Zachry Industrial, Inc.Current Zachry Certification.Experience working as an Industrial Pipe Fitter.Former experience working on a new construction project.Physical RequirementsEmployee will be required to perform prolonged standing, walking, bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, reaching, and lifting throughout the workday.Must be able to talk and hear to effectively communicate with coworkers, supervision, and customers.Will use arms and hands to grab, hold, lift, pull, push, carry, signal, and operate tools, equipment, and materials.May be required to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds.Must be able to climb ladders, stairways, scaffolding, and structures and work from elevated platforms.Will be required to work at heights while utilizing proper fall protection.Must be capable of working outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, humidity, cold, rain, wind, and other environmental conditions.Must be able to work in confined spaces when required.Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, face shields, respiratory protection, and fall protection equipment.Required Certifications / Site RequirementsTWIC Card RequiredValid Driver's License RequiredMust be able to pass all site-specific requirementsMust be able to pass a pre-employment drug screenMust be authorized to work in the United StatesZACHRY is dedicated to providing a Safe and Drug-Free work environment and is an Equal Opportunity Employer.Job InfoJob Identification 15812Job Category WelderPosting Date 09/23/2026, 07:24 PMLocations 111 Red Bluff Rd, Pasadena, TX, 77506, USJob Schedule Full time
