Job description
Review, draft, and negotiate complex commercial agreements, including software licenses/SaaS, marketing, main service agreements, Statements of Work, professional services, and data privacy agreements
Identify and mitigate legal and regulatory risks related to data and privacy protection, security, and AI
Assess legal risks and provide practical guidance on risk management, policy compliance, and contractual obligations
Build collaborative relationships with security, privacy, procurement, finance, senior leadership, and other strategic business partners
Undertake special projects and support new business initiatives
Use AI tools to improve legal service delivery, efficiency, quality, and business support while validating AI-generated work with sound legal judgment
Stay current on laws, regulations, and industry trends impacting commercial contracts
Collaborate with cross-functional leadership on deals shaping eBay's global e-commerce strategy
Requirements
J.D. degree from an ABA accredited law school (or foreign equivalent)
In good standing with a US state bar
6+ years of negotiating and drafting expertise in sophisticated commercial transactions, including software licenses/SaaS, main service agreements, Statements of Work, professional services, and data privacy agreements
Some travel required
Proficient and comfortable using AI tools with a critical eye
Experience drafting and negotiating commercial transactions in an in-house setting
Ability to translate legal complexity into clear, actionable business guidance
Strong interest in AI, automation, and legal operations transformation
Ability to balance legal risk with business objectives
