Commercial Insurance Claims Service RepresentativeHigginbotham, a privately held, independent insurance and financial services firm that ranks within the top 20 nationwide, has an immediate opening for a Claims Service Representative in our St. Petersburg, FL office.The Commercial Insurance Claims Customer Service Representative is responsible for handling phone calls and coordinating communication via email or phone voice mails and relaying them to the appropriate party. The Customer Service Representative performs the administrative functions for the Claims Group. Duties include handling customer service calls as needed and follow administrative workflows for Claims Group support.Essential Tasks:Reports to the Claims Operations Manager and/or Team LeadService in an administrative support capacityUnderstand claims handling guidelines and workflows.Ability to coordinate and distribute information effectivelyCommunicating with customers by phone; returning voice messagesEmailing carriers for follow up and claims statusProcessing incoming electronic and physical mail with appropriate filing and distribute to appropriate partyPerforms all other related duties as assignedCore Competencies:Leadership: Display leadership skills and ability to motivate fellow employeesAbility to Analyze and Solve Problems: Skill in recognizing challenges, exploring options, and implementing effective solutions in a timely mannerAttention to Detail: A strong focus on completing tasks and projects accurately and thoroughlyCommunication Skills: Capable of expressing ideas clearly in both verbal and written forms and engaging with various audiencesTimely Task Completion: Ability to finish tasks and projects efficiently, managing resources and priorities effectivelyTeam Collaboration: Willingness to work together with others, promoting teamwork and supporting shared goalsClient Focus: Dedication to understanding and addressing the needs of clients and stakeholders to ensure their satisfactionDependability: Acknowledgment of the importance of being present and punctual.Creative Thinking: Openness to suggesting new ideas and methods to improve processes and outcomeOrganizational Skills: Capability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneouslyAdaptability: Willingness to adjust to changing situations and priorities, showing resilience in a dynamic work environmentLocation: St. Petersburg, FLExperience: 1 year of Property and Casualty insurance experience required. Carrier, Agency, or Third Party Administrator claims experience is preferred.Systems: Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and OutlookPhysical Requirements: Ability to lift 25 pounds. Repeated use of sight to read documents and computer screens. Repeated use of hearing and speech to communicate on telephone and in person. Repetitive hand movements, such as keyboarding, writing, 10-key.
