Job description
Position: Commercial Lender (North Florida Market)
Position Purpose:
As a Commercial Lender, you will be responsible for developing, managing, and expanding a diverse portfolio of commercial loan and deposit relationships. This role emphasizes business development within the community, conducting credit analysis, and delivering tailored financial solutions that align with customer needs while ensuring compliance with bank policies and regulatory standards.
Essential Functions and Duties:
Cultivate new commercial lending relationships through proactive business development, networking, and community engagement.
Manage a designated portfolio of commercial clients, including ongoing service, renewals, and risk assessments.
Analyze financial statements, cash flow, collateral, and creditworthiness of borrowers to create suitable loan terms.
Prepare loan presentations and recommendations for approval that adhere to bank lending policies.
Maintain in-depth knowledge of the local market, including economic trends and competitive dynamics.
Cross-sell bank products and services, such as deposit accounts, treasury management, and various financial solutions.
Ensure that all credit relationships are well-documented, risk-rated, and monitored for performance.
Proactively identify and manage problem loans, collaborating with management to develop resolution strategies.
Maintain regular contact with customers to enhance relationships and uncover additional business opportunities.
Participate in community and civic events to enhance the bank's visibility and attract new business.
Ensure compliance with all relevant banking laws, regulations, and internal policies.
Collaborate with credit administration, loan operations, and other internal departments to facilitate efficient loan processing and servicing.
Deliver a high level of customer service consistent with the bank's relationship-focused approach.
Lead by example with exceptional customer service skills.
Adhere to all bank and personnel policies and procedures.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.
Experience: 3-7 years of experience in commercial lending, credit analysis, or a related banking role is required.
Experience in a community bank or a relationship-based lending environment is preferred.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of commercial lending principles and underwriting processes.
Proficiency in financial statement analysis, cash flow analysis, and loan structuring.
Familiarity with banking regulations and compliance standards.
Working knowledge of bank products and services.
Skills/Abilities: Strong business development and relationship management capabilities.
Ability to analyze complex financial information and make sound credit decisions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Capability to work independently while actively contributing to team dynamics.
