The Opportunity
At Alera Group, our Property & Casualty team partners with businesses to identify risks, protect assets, and deliver insurance solutions that support long-term success. As a Commercial Lines Support Leader , you'll oversee a team of customer service agents and lead the administrative and operational work that contributes to revenue growth, productivity and strong client retention.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the people, processes, and systems that support commercial lines client service operations while promoting productivity, service quality, client retention, and team engagement
Coach, mentor, and develop team members through onboarding, training, performance management, goal setting, and ongoing professional development initiatives
Drive process improvements, workflow enhancements, and operational best practices that improve efficiency, accuracy, and service delivery
Oversee departmental systems, procedures, audits, Applied Epic administration, carrier website utilization, and service center relationships to ensure operational consistency and compliance
Partner with agents, service teams, carriers, and leadership to support client retention, resolve service concerns, strengthen team performance, and achieve departmental goals
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications
Associate degree and three to five years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Commercial insurance experience required
Active state-specific Property & Casualty Insurance License required
Experience leading, coaching, mentoring, and developing team members
Strong knowledge of agency operations, client service processes, workflow management, and commercial insurance practices
Excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Applied Epic, agency management systems, and internet-based platforms
Preferred Qualifications
Experience leading administrative, operations, or client service teams within an insurance agency environment
Experience managing process improvement and workflow optimization initiatives
Knowledge of performance management, employee engagement, and talent development strategies
Experience administering Applied Epic and other insurance technology platforms
Ability to lead change initiatives and drive operational best practices across multiple teams or locations
