We have an immediate opening in our virtual office, The Link, for a Commercial Litigation Associate with three to seven years of experience preferred. Candidates must reside in Florida and should currently practice in Southwest Florida, preferably in Lee or Collier Counties. An active Florida bar license is required. The candidate will work primarily with attorneys in our Financial Services & Capital Markets Strategic Business Unit.
The ideal candidate will have experience with all phases of complex commercial litigation including, but not limited to, experience conducting factual investigations and discovery, preparing pleadings, taking depositions, arguing motions, participating in mediation, and communicating with clients. Experience in both state and federal court is preferred, and experience in administrative matters and arbitrations is beneficial. Second-chair experience at trial or arbitration is preferred but not required. The ideal candidate will have some exposure to construction litigation.
The candidate must have an excellent academic record, superb writing skills, strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with a team, superior judgment, the ability to effectively handle multiple projects, and the ability to articulate legal strategies and courses of action. Judicial clerkship experience with a federal court is preferred but not required.
