Role Description The Commercial or Personal Lines Account Manager/CSR is a full-time, on-site role based in Rochester, NY. This role is responsible for managing a portfolio of commercial or personal lines accounts, including processing policy changes, preparing renewals, issuing certificates, and handling billing or coverage inquiries. The Account Manager/CSR communicates regularly with clients, carriers, and internal team members to resolve service requests, provide quotes, and ensure policies remain accurate and up to date. The role also involves reviewing coverage options, assisting with claims reporting, maintaining detailed account documentation in agency systems, and supporting producers with proposals and client presentations. Consistent, proactive follow-up and a client-centered approach are critical to success in this position.
Qualifications
Strong account management skills, including organizing client information, tracking renewals, and managing multiple priorities.
Customer service and communication skills that support effective, courteous interactions with clients, carriers, and colleagues.
Knowledge of personal insurance lines (e.g., auto, home, umbrella) and the ability to explain coverage options clearly.
Understanding of commercial insurance and general insurance principles, with the ability to learn agency systems and carrier platforms.
Familiarity with employee benefits concepts is beneficial for supporting clients with integrated coverage needs.
Attention to detail, accuracy in documentation, and proficiency with basic office software (e.g., email, spreadsheets, agency management systems).
Ability to work on-site in Rochester, NY, collaborate with a team, and maintain professional confidentiality.
Relevant insurance licensing (such as Property & Casualty) or willingness to obtain licensing within a defined timeframe.
Previous experience in an insurance agency is required.
