Applicants must attach to be reviewed & deemed eligible for the position For information on how to obtain a current driving record, please see link below: of DutiesThe Gwinnett, Newton and Rockdale County Health Department is seeking a qualified candidate who, under supervision, will serve as a Communicable Disease Specialist for the HIV Prevention Program. The incumbent will be responsible for conducting timely disease intervention functions to control and prevent infectious diseases; providing health education to patients, their partners, clinicians and other community members; counseling patients on their diagnosis and potential treatment options; conducting patient interviews and other epidemiological data; performing investigations to gather information using an array of resources; and coordinating testing and treatment for infected and affected individuals.QualificationsMinimum: Associate degree in medical and preventive services from an accredited college or university AND two (2) years of experience in a related field. Preferred:Experience providing health related education to individuals and/or groups.Experience working in a Public Health, medical, or Community Based Organization setting.Experience conducting investigations, contact tracing, partner services, or field investigations.Experience with SENDSS or other disease reporting software.Experience collecting, entering, validating, analyzing or interpreting data utilizing Microsoft Office products.Experience working with confidential records or personal information.Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.Additional InformationGNR Public Health does not accept resumes without a fully completed employment application.
