Job description
We are looking for individuals who want to be part of a support system for our patients and their families as they transition into end-of-life. Our companion volunteers are invaluable members of our patients’ care team. Volunteers can visit with patients, read to them, listen to music, go on walks, or listen to their stories.
All of our volunteer opportunities are flexible and can work with your schedule and how much time you can give!
Suncrest serves our patients and families wherever they call home. For about 70% of our patients, that's long-term care or senior nursing facilities. We do our best to keep all our volunteers within a 20-minute radius from their homes and volunteers always have the opportunity to let us know if a location will not work for them.
In the Chicagoland Area, Suncrest Hospice serves families in Cook, DuPage, Kane, & Lake counties. We are especially looking for volunteers willing to serve patients and families in and around Hoffman Estates.
All Suncrest Hospice volunteers must be 16 or older and are required to complete a background check, be fingerprinted, and complete a TB test at no charge to you.
