Job Summary:
nPosition Summary:
nUnder the direction of the Faculty Practice Plan Compliance Officer the main duties for this position include:
nnnanalysis of professional coding and billing data
n
nnreview of applicable regulations or guidelines
n
nnprofessional coding and billing audits of CPT and ICD 10 coding.
n
n nDuties/Responsibilities:
nnnAnalysis of coding and billing data, identification of trends and aberrations
n
nnPerformance of routine and investigatory audits evaluating compliance with applicable laws, regulations, CPT and ICD 10 coding, and billing guidelines
n
nnInterpretation of coding, billing, and regulatory standards
n
n nPreparation and completion of audit reports including recommendations, education and corrective action.
nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:
nnnStrong computer skills specifically Microsoft word and Microsoft excel applications
n
nnStrong analytical, problem-solving and time management skills
n
nnExpertise in report writing and oral communications
n
nnAbility to interpret regulations, payment and reimbursement systems, billing and coding guidelines and apply standards
n
nnFamiliarity with health information and/or medical records
n
nnAble to organize work, prioritize assignments and meet deadlines
n
nnMaintains a professional and cooperative attitude with providers, co-workers and employer
n
nnAble to maintain confidentiality of all patient information and compliance related information.
n
n nMinimum Qualifications:
nAssociates degree and 2 years experience in healthcare setting. CCCS-P, CCCS, CPC, RHIA or RHIT required.
nPreferred Qualifications:
nBachelors Degree; Coding and auditing experience preferred.
nWork Days:
nMonday–Friday, daytime hours. Hybrid/remote work options may be considered based on department needs and position requirements
