Job description

Composite TechnicianThis position is responsible for fabricating aircraft parts, accessories, and trim in accordance with technical specifications. Composite technician jobs are detail-oriented and involve crafting, sanding, bonding, assembly, and autoclave with a variety of composite materials.BenefitsGenerous Paid Time Off (PTO)Paid company holidays401(k) retirement plan with 5% company matchMedical, dental, and vision insuranceCompany-paid life insuranceShort- and long-term disability coverageOngoing training and professional development opportunitiesMinimum Requirements and QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentAirframe license preferred but not requiredThree (3) years MRO/Military component repair experience desiredWorking knowledge of precision measuring instrumentsWorking knowledge of related company instructions, company processes, rework process instructions, original equipment manufacturer manuals, and MSDS labelsWorking knowledge of production management computer systems and other related internal control systemsSpecialized training in machine shop practicesMust be able to maintain an airport SIDA badgeAbility to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and overtimeMajor Responsibility Areas and DutiesResponsibilities include reading blueprints and tape measures to ensure project accuracy and completionAbility to read precision measuring tools and instrumentsAbility to use a variety of hand tools, grinders, sanders, files, Dremel's, drills, and operate ovensRepairing components as needed per manual and router instructionPerform hot-bonding, wet lay-up preparation, and cures, using raw materials or pre-pregs, both glass and aramid fiberPerform repairs with the use of various adhesives and resinsRemove and repair damage of honeycomb and core panelsRepair of thermosets and thermoplastics using adhesive bondingPerform grinding, sanding, blending, deburring operation. Operates all power tools and equipment necessary to accomplish job assignmentMust follow all OSHA standards in regard to personal protection equipmentMaintains a clean and neat work areaPhysical Requirements and Environmental ConditionsAbility to climb and work from ladders, work stands, and other heightsAbility to sit, stand, bend, crouch, kneel, and walk for extended periodsAbility to lift 50 poundsAbility to work outside in all weather conditionsAbility to hear at conversational level with hearing aideMust have correctable near and far visionEqual Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
