About this role
Seeking experienced concrete carpenters in Orlando, FL to build and assemble formwork for government and commercial construction projects. This is a per diem position. You will work on active job sites installing, adjusting, and stripping concrete forms with a focus on accuracy and durability. The right candidate reads and interprets drawings, lays out formwork, measures and cuts materials, and works well on a crew. Must be reliable, safety-focused, and able to travel to job sites as needed. Bilingual English/Spanish speakers are encouraged to apply.
What you'll do
Build, set, brace, and align concrete forms for slabs, walls, columns, and footings
Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and as-built notes to lay out formwork
Measure, cut, fit and fasten form materials to specified tolerances
Collaborate with concrete crews during placement and adjust forms as needed
Inspect formwork for accuracy and quality;
make corrections and report defects
Maintain tools, clean work areas, and follow site safety and quality procedures
What we're looking for
Proven experience in concrete formwork carpentry on commercial or government jobs
Skilled at drawing reading/interpretation and site layout
Strong measuring, cutting, and general framing carpentry skills
Experience with concrete placement coordination and general concrete work
Ability to work as part of a crew, follow instructions, and maintain quality under schedule pressures
Physically able to lift, carry, climb, and work in varying weather conditions
Qualifications
Fluent in English and Spanish (required)
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites
Willingness to pass background check and drug screen
OSHA 10 (or site safety training) preferred
Construction trade experience or foreman experience preferred
