Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator with experience in commercial concrete construction. In this role, you will be the backbone of the bidding process, transforming complex blueprints into precise cost evaluations. You will also play a pivotal role in the sales process through client relationship management.
Responsibilities:
Bid Management: Prepare and submit comprehensive bid packages for private and public heavy civil projects.
Site Analysis: Evaluate soil reports and site conditions to identify potential risks or cost-saving opportunities.
Strategy: Develop competitive bidding strategies based on equipment availability and historical production data.
Collaboration: Work closely with Project Managers and Superintendents to ensure the transition from "estimated" to "built" is seamless.
Sales: Manage client relationships, follow up on bids, and move business forward.
Requirements:
5+ years esperience in an estimating role, preferably within commercial concrete construction, including foundations, paving, flat work, slope paving, tilt walls, retaining walls, and base prep.
Tech Savvy: Proficiency in estimating software (Bluebeam or similar) and Excel
Analytical Mindset: Ability to read and interpret complex civil engineering plans and specifications.
Preferred Education: A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field.
