Are you a licensed Structural Engineer with hands-on experience designing structural steel connections ?
I'm recruiting for an exciting opportunity with an established, family-owned structural steel fabricator that has been operating for nearly 100 years.
This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of the company's in-house structural engineering function , working directly with detailing, fabrication, and project management teams on a diverse range of structural steel projects.
What You'll Be Doing:
Designing structural steel connections, including bolted, welded, moment, shear, and bracing connections.
Preparing and reviewing structural engineering calculations.
Ensuring compliance with AISC standards, AWS D1.1, and applicable building codes.
Reviewing structural drawings, shop drawings, and connection design requirements.
Collaborating with detailers, fabricators, project managers, and Engineers of Record.
Resolving engineering challenges throughout fabrication and erection.
Developing practical, cost-effective, and constructible connection solutions.
What We're Looking For:
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license – REQUIRED.
Proven experience in structural steel connection design.
Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication and erection.
Experience with AISC standards and structural connection calculations.
Ability to independently manage engineering responsibilities.
Familiarity with Tekla Structures or connection design software is advantageous.
Experience working with structural steel fabricators or specialist connection engineering firms is highly desirable.
