Job TitleSt. Catherine of Siena Hospital, affiliated with Catholic Health Services of Long Island, is located in Smithtown, NY on a beautiful 110-acre campus that includes a 290-bed community hospital, a 240-bed nursing and rehabilitation facility, and a 60,000 sq. ft. medical office building. SCS is engaged with error reduction initiatives and on a journey to High Reliability. We have been recognized in superior care in stroke and sepsis patients, have also recently attained Center of Excellence in Bariatric Surgery, and have been designated as the only Baby Friendly hospital in Suffolk County.Job DescriptionResponsibilities:Operating console to relay incoming calls and in house pagesMonitoring alarms and other equipmentFunctioning as communications center during emergenciesPerforming clerical duties and minor telephone repairs.Requirements:High school diploma or G.E.D. requiredRolm console experience or similar switchboard/telephone experienceExperience dealing with the publicMust be able to type 35 wpmComputer and word processing experience required.Must be able to learn new technological equipment and services and incorporate into job. Pleasant telephone manner and speaking voiceGood front desk, reception, and telephone skillsMust be able to work under pressure in a fast paced environmentBe available to cover other shifts as needed.Salary RangeStarting from USD $24.31/Hr.The salary range or rate listed does not include any differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.At Catholic Health, we believe in a people-first approach.
