Construction AccountantA growing and well-established commercial construction company is seeking a Construction Accountant with strong construction accounting experience and long-term growth potential.Join a collaborative accounting team supporting construction accounting, project accounting, and financial operations with a clear path toward increased responsibility and future accounting leadership.The company is actively interviewing and is looking to hire immediately.Full-time, 100% in-office position in a collaborative office environment.This is a succession-planning opportunity for an accounting professional who wants to grow into a key leadership role within the accounting department.Highly collaborative office where you'll work directly with experienced accounting leadership and company ownership.$55,000–$95,000 annually, depending on experience.Position OverviewOur client is seeking a Construction Accountant to support the financial operations of a growing construction organization. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with experience in the construction industry who understands project accounting, job costing, vendor compliance, and the unique financial processes involved in construction. While the position includes oversight of construction accounts payable activities, the primary focus is on supporting the overall accounting function with significant opportunities for career advancement into accounting leadership.Key ResponsibilitiesManage construction accounting activities across multiple projects.Process construction-related invoices and maintain accurate financial records.Perform job cost coding and monitor project costs.Administer construction accounts payable and vendor payment processes.Review and maintain Certificates of Insurance (COIs), lien waivers, and vendor compliance documentation.Track paid-when-paid payment requirements.Assist with month-end close, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.Support project accounting and financial reporting.Assist with the implementation and continued optimization of Procore.Partner with project managers and accounting leadership to ensure financial accuracy and operational efficiency.Take on expanded accounting responsibilities with the opportunity to grow into a future accounting leadership position.QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.2–7+ years of accounting experience.Construction accounting experience is required.Strong knowledge of:Construction job costingProject accountingConstruction accounts payableLien waiversCertificates of Insurance (COIs)Paid-when-paid construction payment processesVendor complianceExperience with QuickBooks Enterprise is preferred.Experience with Procore, including Cost Management and Project Management, is a strong plus.Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Stable employment history.Desire to grow into a broader construction accounting and future accounting leadership role.BenefitsMedical InsuranceDental InsuranceVision Insurance401(k) with company match (100% of the first 3% and 50% of the next 2%)Annual profit sharingShort-Term DisabilityLong-Term DisabilityLife InsuranceTwo weeks of Paid Time OffLimited work-from-home flexibility (up to one remote day per month for personal needs)If you're interested in learning more about this opportunity or would like to discuss your qualifications, please apply now.Feel free to share this opportunity with anyone in your network who might be a good fit!
