Location: Sacramento, CA 95815 Job Type: Full-Time, In-Office Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Salary: $60,000–$75,000 per year, depending on experience
nAbout the Position
nWe are seeking an experienced Construction Bookkeeper to join our team in Sacramento. This is a full-time, in-office position for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, dependable, and experienced with the accounting needs of a construction company.
nThe ideal candidate will have at least 3–4 years of hands-on QuickBooks experience along with construction accounting/bookkeeping experience. We are looking for someone who understands the unique financial processes involved in the construction industry and can confidently manage day-to-day bookkeeping responsibilities with accuracy.
nResponsibilities
nManage day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting transactions
nMaintain accurate records in QuickBooks
nProcess accounts payable and accounts receivable
nEnter and reconcile bank and credit card transactions
nPrepare and send customer invoices
nTrack incoming payments and outstanding balances
nMaintain vendor accounts and process vendor invoices
nAssist with payroll-related accounting and recordkeeping
nPerform bank and account reconciliations
nTrack expenses by project/job
nMaintain accurate job costing records
nTrack labor, materials, subcontractor costs, and other project-related expenses
nAssist with construction project billing and financial reporting
nMaintain organized documentation for vendors, subcontractors, customers, and projects
nPrepare reports for management as requested
nAssist with month-end accounting and financial reconciliation
nWork closely with management to ensure financial records are accurate and up to date
nRequired Qualifications
n3–4+ years of QuickBooks experience
n3–4+ years of construction accounting and/or construction bookkeeping experience
nStrong understanding of accounts payable and accounts receivable
nExperience with job costing and project-based accounting
nExperience reconciling bank and credit card accounts
nStrong attention to detail and accuracy
nExcellent organizational and time-management skills
nAbility to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
nComfortable working independently and taking ownership of bookkeeping responsibilities
nStrong communication skills
nProficient with Microsoft Excel and general office software
nConstruction accounting/bookkeeping experience is required for this position.
nSchedule
nMonday through Friday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
nThis is an in-office position located in Sacramento, CA 95815. Remote work is not available for this role.
nCompensation
n$60,000–$75,000 per year, based on relevant construction bookkeeping/accounting experience and qualifications.
