Controller - Construction
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Controller to oversee the company's accounting and financial operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction accounting, hands-on experience with Foundation Software, and a solid understanding of WIP reporting and job costing. This is a fully onsite position - no remote or hybrid work. The company generates approximately $30M in annual revenue.
Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day accounting and financial operations
Manage WIP reporting, job costing, and project financials
Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports
Oversee AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger
Monitor job profitability, costs, and cash flow
Work closely with Project Managers and ownership
Manage month-end and year-end close
Assist with budgeting and forecasting
Maintain accurate construction accounting records and reporting
Improve accounting processes and internal controls
Qualifications
5+ years of accounting experience, preferably within construction
Must have construction contracting experience
Must have hands-on Foundation Software experience
Strong WIP and job-costing experience required
Experience with construction financial reporting
Strong understanding of GAAP and month-end close
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Ability to work onsite and collaborate directly with ownership and operations
