Construction Manager – Power Generation
Location: El Paso, TX
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $70–$78 per hour
Per Diem: $168 per day, paid seven days per week
Schedule: Six 10-hour days, approximately 60 hours per week
Duration: 6-8 months
Seeking a Construction Manager for a 100 MW power-generation project supporting a data center in El Paso, TX. This position will oversee onsite construction execution, coordinating electrical and mechanical activities while maintaining project safety, quality and schedule expectations.
The ideal candidate brings construction leadership experience in large industrial/EPC environments, with a strong understanding of power generation, high-voltage electrical systems and the transition from installation through commissioning.
Responsibilities
Lead daily construction activities and coordinate field leadership, crews and subcontractors.
Coordinate electrical and mechanical work, including installation sequencing and readiness for pre-commissioning and commissioning.
Monitor project schedules, manpower needs, material availability and field progress.
Identify construction issues and work with project management and field teams to resolve them.
Review drawings and specifications to support installation quality and scope compliance.
Maintain accountability for safety, workmanship, productivity and site coordination.
Track field progress, outstanding issues and project documentation using Procore.
Coordinate inspections, punch-list completion and turnover activities.
Qualifications
Experience leading construction on large industrial or EPC projects.
Background involving power-generation facilities, high-voltage electrical systems and commissioning activities.
Experience coordinating multidisciplinary crews, subcontractors and field leadership.
Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications and schedules.
Strong planning, documentation and communication skills.
Experience using Procore.
OSHA 10 certification or higher.
Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.
Assignment Details
This is an onsite contract assignment with no scheduled rotation. Candidates must be available to work in El Paso for the project duration. A site vehicle is available for management.
