Job description
Overview In this role you will drive mechanical project estimations for HVAC, plumbing, and piping, shaping bids for a diverse project portfolio. You will work closely with architects, clients and operations to clarify objectives, schedules, and requirements. You'll prepare hard bids and pricing proposals, sourcing cost data from subcontractors and suppliers. You will apply strong math, plan reading, and takeoff skills to deliver accurate, competitive estimates that support project wins.
ResponsibilitiesInteracts with architects, clients, business development and operations to align project objectives and schedules
Develops hard bids and pricing proposals in response to requests
Obtains cost information from subcontractors and suppliers
Collaborates with team to deliver high-quality results
Calculates total cost for materials, labor, equipment, and permits for mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, piping)
Key requirementsBachelor in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture
Strong mathematical and organizational skills
Proficient in reading plans and performing takeoffs
Ability to multitask and thrive in a dynamic environment
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite and Adobe Acrobat
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Senior level: 5+ years of estimating experience in a professional construction firm
