Location: Islandia, New York, United States (On-Site)
Compensation: $90,000 - $125,000 per year + Bonus + Full Benefits (Good-faith estimated range)
About the Opportunity
The Contractor Consultants is seeking a Construction Project Estimator for a commercial construction contractor in Islandia, NY. You will prepare accurate cost estimates, quantity takeoffs, and competitive bid proposals for commercial building projects.
Key Responsibilities
Cost Estimation & Takeoffs: Perform comprehensive digital quantity takeoffs and labor/material cost calculations using On-Screen Takeoff / PlanSwift.
Bid Solicitation: Distribute bid packages and solicit competitive quotes from subcontractors and trade vendors.
Scope Analysis: Analyze architectural plans, engineering specifications, and addenda to ensure all scope items are accurately captured.
Proposal Preparation: Prepare detailed bid proposals, cost breakdowns, and value engineering recommendations for clients.
Preconstruction Handoff: Lead handoff meetings with project management and field teams upon contract award.
Candidate Qualifications
Education : Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related discipline.
Experience : 3+ years of commercial construction estimating experience.
Skills : Mastery of takeoff software, construction estimating spreadsheets, cost code databases, and subcontractor networks.
