Construction Trades Non-Tenure Track Faculty – Gallatin College
Review of applications will be on a continual basis and will continue until the position(s) are filled. Applicants will be notified if their application is being retained in the hiring pool for up to two years.
Appointments may be on a part‑time basis and vary in duration— a couple weeks, a semester or an academic year— depending on the specific needs of the department or program. Salary is dependent on the number of courses taught and duration. This position is not eligible for sponsorship.
Brief Position Overview
Gallatin College seeks non‑tenure track faculty for Construction Trades programs including HVAC‑R, General Construction, and Plumbing.
Duties and Responsibilities
Gallatin College seeks course instructors to teach in the following specialty areas:
Fundamentals of Construction Technology
Woodworking and Finish Carpentry
Carpentry Basics and Rough Framing
Site Prep, Foundations and Concrete Installation
Blueprint Codes and Estimating
Duties and responsibilities include:
Understand industry standards and best practices as well as college rules and regulations.
Communicate well with all types of learners at different levels of expertise.
Recognize safety hazards and unsafe operation of tools or equipment and be able to instruct students in proper use.
Maintain and inventory any applicable equipment utilized in the classroom or lab settings; inventory consumables and prepare reorder lists for restocking.
Maintain an organized and clean learning environment.
Provide and/or locate emergency medical assistance when needed.
Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
Three years of experience in related field
AAS or similar degree in related field
Ability to demonstrate construction trades technique(s) to students who may possess a variety of skill and talent
Demonstrated experience working with and engaging various groups of learners within and outside of a department
Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
Five or more years of experience in the field that topic of instruction relates to
Bachelor’s degree in related field
Industry standard professional certification(s)
Demonstrated commitment to student, faculty, and staff enrichment
Prior teaching experience
Understanding of the two‑year college mission

Faculty – Gallatin College – Any position more than .5 FTE MAY BE eligible for benefits as outlined in the policies of the Montana Two‑Year College Faculty Association (MTYCFA), Montana State University, the Montana University System or the AFMSU Non‑Tenure Track Collective Bargaining Agreements.

Program and Department
In the Construction Trades program, students acquire the skills necessary for entry‑level occupations in construction or HVAC‑R. Also, under this Division Gallatin College is offering support course for the Plumbing and Electrical apprenticeship programs already established in the area.
