Job description

Viscadia is a leading consulting firm focused on forecasting for life sciences. We help pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies make high-stakes decisions with greater clarity and confidence, with teams across the United States, Europe, and India. We are deeply committed to a vision of shared growth and success for our clients, colleagues, and communities.

About the Role

Viscadia is seeking a highly hands‑on Consultant to support a fast‑growing life sciences client preparing for a major product approval later this year. This role is deeply embedded in forecasting work and requires close, ongoing collaboration with U.S.-based client stakeholders. You will serve as both a technical expert and a trusted thought partner, helping teams not only build and maintain forecast models, but also understand, use, and stand behind them.

This is a high‑impact, high‑expectation role suited for someone who thrives in complex, client‑facing environments, enjoys being close to the work, and takes pride in being the expert in the room.

Location

Cambridge, MA (in‑office 4 days/week)

Why consider Viscadia as your next career step?

Since our founding in 2010, Viscadia has grown from a startup to a global team that works alongside the companies shaping life sciences. We are dedicated to promoting a positive and supportive work environment where everyone can thrive. Our culture is collaborative by design, with teams across three regions operating as one. We are looking for people who want to grow with us and are excited to help shape what comes next.

Travel

Frequent travel to client sites on the U.S. West Coast.

Roles and Responsibilities

Own and execute day-to-day pharmaceutical forecasting activities, including model updates, data refreshes, scenario analysis, and assumption management

Build, maintain, and enhance forecast models with a strong emphasis on accuracy, transparency, and usability

Deeply understand forecast drivers, risks, and sensitivities and proactively surface insights to client teams

Develop and evaluate multiple forecast options, clearly articulating tradeoffs, risks, and implications before recommendations are made

Use Excel, VBA, SQL, and Python or R, plus Access and Tableau as needed, to automate forecasting workflows, validate data refreshes, and produce client‑ready outputs

Support onboarding of new client stakeholders by walking them through forecast models, assumptions, and methodologies

Conduct working sessions and hands‑on workshops with client teams to explain how models are structured, how they should be maintained, and how outputs should be interpreted

Serve as a day‑to‑day point of contact for client questions related to forecasting models, data inputs, and analytical outputs

Partner closely with client stakeholders in a highly collaborative, in‑office culture, providing confident onshore support

Conduct targeted primary and secondary market research to inform forecast assumptions and strategic context

Integrate market dynamics, competitive intelligence, and therapeutic area insights into forecasting work

Develop therapeutic area expertise to strengthen analytical rigor and client credibility

Apply structured problem‑solving frameworks to address complex client questions

Translate complex analyses into clear, concise narratives for both technical and non‑technical audiences

Prepare and deliver high‑quality client‑facing materials, including PowerPoint decks and written communications

Communicate confidently with senior stakeholders, anticipating questions and addressing gaps proactively

Contribute to the development of Viscadia’s forecasting capabilities, tools, and methodologies

Share learnings and best practices across project teams

Uphold Viscadia’s standards for quality, ownership, and client impact

Qualifications

Required

4 to 6 years of experience in pharmaceutical forecasting, analytics, or life sciences consulting

Demonstrated, hands‑on experience building and maintaining forecasting solutions using VBA, SQL, and Python or R, with the ability to leverage Access and Tableau for data management, automation, and visualization

Prior experience working with U.S.-based clients or stakeholders, with a strong understanding of U.S. workplace culture and expectations

Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights

Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint

Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts clearly

Exceptional attention to detail and a strong personal bar for quality

Preferred

Experience combining forecasting with market research or commercial analytics

Experience supporting commercial forecasting for product launch planning (assumption setting, scenario planning, uptake and share dynamics)

Experience providing onsite or embedded client support

Familiarity with healthcare datasets, syndicated databases, or commercial pharma data sources

What This Role Is (and Is Not)

This role is for someone who is deeply hands‑on and enjoys being close to the work

This is not a people‑management role and is not suited for candidates who have stepped away from execution

Expectations are high, and the client is highly knowledgeable and engaged, but also collaborative and reasonable

Success in this role requires strong ownership, proactive communication, and confidence in your analytical craft

Your voice matters here; you will have direct access to leadership and real influence on business outcomes.
