Role Overview
The Consulting/Principal Software Engineer is a senior technical expert responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting enterprise-grade software solutions throughout the full development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development of scalable, reliable, and secure Java-based applications, including microservices and RESTful APIs.
Support and modernize legacy systems by adopting cloud-native architectures, microservices, and AI-assisted development tools.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architecture, QA, SRE, and product teams, to deliver high-quality solutions.
Mentor junior engineers, promote best practices, and contribute to technical guidance and code reviews.
Support operational excellence by troubleshooting complex production issues, optimizing performance, and ensuring system reliability.
Participate in system design, architecture discussions, and modernization initiatives involving migration to cloud platforms like Azure.
Qualifications & Skills
Over 10 years of professional software engineering experience with at least 7 years in Java enterprise application development.
Expertise in designing and implementing microservices, REST APIs, and distributed systems.
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred), Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
Strong knowledge of data management using relational and NoSQL databases, and supporting highly available enterprise systems.
Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools, automated testing frameworks, and performance monitoring.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
Additional Attributes
Proven ability to independently deliver complex solutions, support modernization efforts, and stay current with emerging technologies.
