nService Model: Primarily Teletherapy

nAbout the Role: We are seeking a highly experienced and mission-driven Psychiatrist to join our specialized mental health network as a 1099 independent contractor. This critical role serves a dual purpose: providing direct, expert psychiatric care to veterans and providing clinical supervision to a dedicated team of Nurse Practitioners (NPs) serving the same population. The ideal candidate is a leader, clinician, and collaborator who is deeply comfortable managing complex psychiatric conditions, including high-risk presentations.

nKey Responsibilities:

nDirect Clinical Care (Approx. 60%):

nConduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments for veterans.

nDevelop, implement, and monitor individualized medication management plans.

nProvide brief supportive therapy and psychoeducation integrated with pharmacotherapy.

nDemonstrate expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of suicidality, self-harm ideation, and complex trauma (PTSD).

nManage psychiatric comorbidities common in veteran populations (e.g., PTSD, MDD, Anxiety, TBI, Substance Use Disorders).

nMaintain timely, accurate, and compliant documentation in our secure EHR.

nClinical Supervision & Leadership (Approx. 40% PAID):

nProvide scheduled, structured clinical supervision to a team of Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNPs).

nReview cases, provide guidance on diagnosis, treatment planning, and pharmacologic interventions.

nEnsure adherence to best practices, clinical guidelines, and organizational protocols, particularly regarding risk management.

nSupport the professional development and competency of the NP team in veteran-centric care.

nBe available for urgent clinical consultation to the NP team as needed.

nCollaborate with the clinical leadership team on program development and quality improvement initiatives.

nRequired Qualifications:

nMedical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution.

nBoard Certification in Psychiatry.

nActive, unrestricted medical license in your state of residence and eligibility for licensure in multiple states (as required).

nActive DEA registration.

nMinimum of 5 years of post-residency experience practicing psychiatry.

nMinimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience treating veteran, active-duty, or military-connected populations.

nProven experience and skill in managing high-acuity patients, including advanced competency in suicide risk assessment and mitigation.

nFormal experience providing clinical supervision to mid-level providers (NPs/PAs).

nExperience with trauma-informed care and pharmacotherapy for PTSD.

nMust carry own professional liability insurance (malpractice) with minimum coverage of 1M/1M/3M.

nHighly Desired Qualifications:

nPrior military service or experience working within the VA/DoD system.

nAdded qualifications or significant experience in Addiction Psychiatry.

nExperience with telepsychiatry platforms and hybrid care models.

nTraining in evidence-based psychotherapies (e.g., CBT, CPT).

nWhat We Offer (1099 Contractor):

nHighly Competitive Compensation: A substantial hourly or per-session rate commensurate with this senior, dual-role position PAID supervision per NP on team.

nFlexible Schedule: Ability to set your own clinical and supervision hours.

nAdministrative Burden Removed: We handle client onboarding, billing, insurance, and marketing.

nSupportive Infrastructure: Access to a secure EHR, teletherapy platform, and IT support.

nFocused Mission: Lead and contribute to a program dedicated exclusively to veteran mental health.

nCollaborative Environment: Connect with a network of dedicated therapists and clinicians.

nCommitment to Care: We believe in providing unwavering support to our nation's veterans. We seek clinicians who share this commitment and possess the clinical fortitude to engage with serious mental health concerns with skill, empathy, and professionalism.

nHow to Apply: Please submit your CV and a cover letter addressing your specific experience with the veteran population and your clinical approach to managing suicidality and self-harm ideation.
