Job description
The Lebanon Police Department is seeking a contracted, part-time prosecutor to join our prosecution team. This position involves prosecuting violation-level offenses at the district court level, conducing ALS hearings, adjudicating juvenile matters, and managing routine case paperwork and daily assignments.
An ideal candidate would be an attorney with a strong background in law enforcement or a certified police officer with courtroom experience who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle sensitive legal matters with professionalism.
Qualifications (Attorney Track)
Juris Doctor (JD) degree
State of NH law license
Member in good standing of the NH Bar Association
One (1) to three (3) years of experience in criminal prosecution
Maintains NH law license in good standing and fulfills all continuing education requirements
Stays current on applicable areas of law and performs similar or related duties as needed
Qualifications (Law Enforcement Track) New Hampshire Certified Law Officer
Five (5) or more years of law enforcement experience in NH or a comparable state
Courtroom knowledge and experience
Strong understanding of NH laws and RSAs, with a commitment to staying current
Professional demeanor in handling sensitive information and working with defendants, victims, and witnesses.
