The Contracts & Risk Management Intern will support the Risk Management team in enhancing the organization's contract lifecycle management, governance, and legal operations capabilities.
The intern will gain hands-on experience reviewing and analyzing commercial agreements, assessing legal and business risks, and supporting the development of contract management resources and processes. This internship provides a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of law, technology, risk management, and business operations while contributing to strategic initiatives that improve contracting efficiency, consistency, and risk mitigation.
The position is ideal for a second-year law student (2L) seeking practical experience in commercial transactions, contract management, legal operations, compliance, procurement, supply chain, or in-house legal functions. Exceptional first-year law students (1L) with relevant professional experience or complementary backgrounds in business, compliance, procurement, supply chain, contract administration, or related disciplines will also be considered.
Responsibilities
Review and analyze standard commercial agreements, including NDAs, Stocking Agreements, Supply Agreements, and Master Agreements
Assist in creating and developing contract negotiation playbooks with preferred company positions, approved alternatives, and escalation requirements
Support ongoing maintenance and governance of clause libraries
Work with emerging legal technology platforms, including Spellbook and Docusign CLM, to help to establish the standards that support consistent and efficient contract review practices across the organization
Assist in evaluating emerging legal and regulatory risks
Collaborate with other departments and support special projects related to governance, supplier risk management, and compliance initiatives.
Qualifications
Required
Currently enrolled in an accredited Juris Doctor (J.D.) program.
Completion of the second year of law school preferred.
Exceptional first-year law students with relevant professional experience will be considered.
Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and organizational skills.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality.

Business operations
Interest in commercial transactions, contract law, legal technology, legal operations, compliance, or in-house legal practice.
Familiarity with contract lifecycle management (CLM) systems or workflow automation platforms.
Exposure to AI-enabled legal research, contract review, or legal technology tools.
Demonstrated ability to analyze and organize large volumes of contractual information.
Experience reviewing, drafting, negotiating, or administering contracts is a plus.
Strong collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills.
Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned projects.
This temporary position is not benefits eligible.
Compensation
The base pay range for this role is $20 - $20 per hour.
